Topsinn TODC model reference
Work out which unit you have, how many cartridges it takes, and which filter part number suits it — before you pick up the phone.
Most people find this page because a filter has blinded and the only thing they know about their extractor is the number stencilled on the cabinet. That number tells you more than you might think.
How to read a TODC model number
Across the Topsinn range the pattern is consistent: the number is the nominal airflow in thousands of cubic metres per hour, and it is also the cartridge count.
A TODC-6L is a 6,000 m³/h unit with six cartridges. A TODC-12P is 12,000 m³/h with twelve. The trailing letter is the series — L and B for laser cutting, P for plasma and flame, M for compact and mobile units, and so on.
So if you can see the unit but not the plate, count the cartridges through the access door. That single number identifies the model in almost every case.
Laser cutting series — TODC-L and TODC-B
These are the two series most commonly found behind imported plate and tube lasers in Australia. They do the same job; they differ in cartridge configuration, which is why their filter part numbers are not interchangeable.

The one thing people get wrong when ordering
Within each series the cartridges come in two mounting arrangements and they are not interchangeable. TODC00092 and TODC00096 are the small hole type; TODC00093 and TODC00097 are through hole.
Pull one cartridge out, look at the top end plate, and photograph it. A small central boss for a stud or yoke fixing means small hole. A full-diameter open centre means through hole. Thirty seconds now saves a wasted freight run. More on parts →
Worked example: TODC-6L specifications
The 6L is the unit we see most often, and its published figures are useful as a yardstick for the whole range.

Two things worth pulling out of that table. The air-to-cloth ratio works out at 50 m³/h per m² of media, or about 0.83 m/min — a sensible figure for fine metal fume, and a useful benchmark when comparing any replacement unit. And the 380 V supply figure is worth confirming against your plate, because Australian three-phase is nominally 400/415 V. More on both →

Can't read the plate?
Rating plates on extraction units live a hard life — they get painted over, coated in dust, or fitted facing a wall. Work through this instead:
- Count the cartridges. Open the access door and count. That number is almost certainly the model number.
- Check the cartridge label. Old cartridges often carry a legible part number even when the cabinet plate does not.
- Photograph the cartridge end plate to establish small hole versus through hole.
- Look at the motor nameplate for kW rating — 7.5 kW points to a 6,000 m³/h class unit.
- Send us the photos. Between the cartridge count and an end-plate photo we can nearly always identify the unit and the correct filter.
